We each have the goal to visit all 50 states and decided last week that since we have all kinds of time, we should scratch another state off the list. We drove for a couple of hours and stopped in a little town called Saugatuck. We took a mile-ish walk through the woods to get to a dunes park/beach. It was really pretty and the girls had a great time running, splashing, and crawling around.
We had a picnic for lunch then drove to their Main Street and docks to explore the shops a little more. It was a really cute town, at least in the summer. On the way home we stopped at our favorite Culver's for a treat.
Only 8 more states to go (for me)!!!

That is a beautiful spot you picked. Cute family.
Looks a little windy at the beach, but nice and isolated! The town looks like something straight out of an "old timey" kind of story. Glad you guys are using this break to its fullest. :)
Lake Michigan is so pretty! Not quite as stunning as the Missouri River though. Scott will be proud when I tell him you visited his home state.
